| Kickin' Cancer 5K|
It was a beautiful day on October 2nd, when the 15th Annual Kickin' Cancer 5K kicked off in Los Angeles. Friends and families enjoyed the festive event before and after the race.
Longo has been a longtime community partner of this 5K, which benefits the Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research. This event brings expressions of hope, strength, remembrance and resilience.
|Children's Hospital L. A. Blood Drive|
On September 29th, Longo's 6th Annual Children's Hospital LA Blood Drive was held on the Longo campus. The theme: Longo CARes Superheroes --- blood donors definitely lived up to the super hero challenge! Another successful blood drive that gave life to children and hope to their families.
We will continue to host blood drives for the needs of children and their families. Be a Superhero at the next life-saving blood drive at Longo.
|Taste of Arcadia Food & Wine Festival|
The recent weather with 105 degree temperatures did not deter the 1,200+ attendees from the Taste of Arcadia. Everyone enjoyed sampling food, desserts, and drinks from our local vendors throughout the evening. The DJ had guests tirelessly dancing until the end of the evening.
Longo Toyota-Lexus displayed a Prius and NX in the Business Showcase. The Longo booth was very popular and the giveaways were a big hit!
|Healthy Kids Wellness Event|
As a community partner with the City of El Monte Parks, Recreation and Community Services, we hosted a Free Health & Wellness Fair in July.
Over 600 people attended. Children enjoyed physical activity on fun obstacle courses, while parents took part in healthy cooking demonstrations.
Longo takes pride in our community and will continue to promote #HealthyElMonte.
|Concerts in the Park|
Summers in the San Gabriel Valley begin with great Concerts in the Park. Each enjoyable family friendly is free. What a wonderful opportunity to hear local bands!
We have had the privilege to be a part of many concerts, including South Pasadena, Baldwin Park, Covina, Temple City, El Monte, and San Dimas.
Longo looks forward to supporting these popular local traditions next year.
||City of Hope Blood
It's not every day you can save someone's life - but that is exactly what our 63 donors did for the City of Hope patients.
Thank you to our Service guests and Team Longo for taking time out of their busy lives to give the gift of life to others.
Longo's 11th Annual City of Hope Blood Drive will be held on May 18, 2017.
| ||Celebrating Earth Day|
In April, Longo hosted its 9th Annual Earth Day Celebration for surrounding communities and local businesses. Over 6,000 lbs. of shredded paper and 4,000 lbs. of e-waste were recycled rather than generating trash in our landfills.
Thank you to our partners - City of El Monte (pictured with Greg Penske, Councilmen Jay Gomez and Jerry Velasquez and City Manager, Jesus Gomez), our neighbors and team members for taking an active role in protecting our planet and helping us on another successful Earth Day event.
Mark your calendar for the 10th Annual Earth Day Celebration on April 21, 2017.

American Heart Association (AHA)
February is the awareness month for the American Heart Association. The AHA calculates that an estimated 44 million women in the U.S. are affected by cardiovascular disease. Here's the good news: 80% of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and some action. For more information, please visit www.goredforwomen.org .
Our Longo Team Members wearing red on Fridays increased awareness about cardiovascular health - making our heart health a priority.

| Beanie Drive
for City of Hope|
Longo's Beanie Drive was a call for hope, warm heads, and big smiles! All styles and sizes of beanies were collected throughout the month of January for men, women, and children.
City of Hope's Community Outreach Specialist, Latascha Johnson (bottom left) accepted over 150 beanies donated by our Longo team members. It's a wonderful feeling when something as small as a hat, can bring smiles and joy to these courageous patients.
