The 2020 Toyota Prius Prime and the 2020 Honda Insight hybrid vehicles both seat five passengers and boast strong safety features. However, that’s where their similarities end. The Prius Prime is a plug-in hybrid hatchback with class-leading fuel economy, standard Apple CarPlay® compatibility, and larger standard and optional infotainment displays. Performance

2020 Toyota Prius Prime

The 2020 Prius Prime is available in LE, XLE, and Limited trims, each which are powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine coupled with a plug-in hybrid system and a continuously variable automatic transmission. The power is sent to the front wheels with a total system output of 121-hp. The Prius Prime has an outstanding EPA-estimated fuel economy of 54 mpg combined and 133 MPGe, a total driving range of 640 miles, and up to 25 miles utilizing only electric power. Standard driving modes include EV for maximum efficiency, EV Auto, which selects between electrical and hybrid, and HV, which efficiently combines the gas engine and the electrical power.

2020 Honda Insight

The LX, EX, and Touring trims of the 2020 Honda Insight are equipped with a 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine teamed with an electric motor and a continuously variable automatic transmission. The Insight includes a front-wheel drivetrain and is capable of generating up to 151-hp. The Insight has an EPA-estimated 52 mpg combined with the LX and EX trims, and 48 mpg combined in the Touring trim. The Insight utilizes a fuel-efficient ECON mode, Sport mode for an enhanced driving experience, and EV driving mode.

2020 Toyota Prius Prime

The Prius Prime comes standard with cloth upholstered seats, heated front seats, and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat for added cargo space versatility. Additionally, this plug-in hybrid delivers up to 19.8 cubic feet of cargo volume, a Smart Key System on the driver's door, push-button start, heated power outside mirrors, and a Smart charging cable lock. A heated steering wheel, SofTex®-trimmed seats, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and keyless entry on all doors are available.

2020 Honda Insight

The Insight’s cloth seats with a 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback, push-button start, and up to 15.1 cubic feet of trunk capacity are included. Available features consist of perforated, leather-trimmed seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, an 8-way power driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power moonroof, remote engine start, and Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock®.

2020 Toyota Prius Prime

This modern cabin embraces a standard Entune™ infotainment system with a 7.0-inch high-resolution touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay® and Amazon Alexa compatibility, voice recognition, Bluetooth®, Siri® Eyes Free, SiriusXM® satellite radio, a six-speaker audio system. Also, Scout® GPS Link, a USB media port, and two USB charging ports are included. An upgraded infotainment system, an 11.6-inch HD multimedia touchscreen, HD Radio™, a ten-speaker JBL® GreenEdge™ sound system, navigation, a head-up display, and wireless charging are optional.

2020 Honda Insight

A 5.0-inch color display, a Bluetooth® hands-free link, Pandora® integration, and a 160-watt, six-speaker sound system are standard technology features. An 8.0-inch high-resolution touchscreen, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, SiriusXM® satellite radio and HD Radio™, a ten-speaker premium audio system, navigation, and a Wi-Fi hotspot are optional. Also, the HondaLink® mobile app to unlock and lock your doors and start your engine remotely is available.
