Performance

This fun-to-drive sports car is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine teamed with a six-speed manual transmission and a rear-wheel drivetrain to kick out 205-hp and 156 lb-ft of torque. The Toyota 86 has an EPA-estimated 28 mpg on the highway and 21 mpg of city driving. The 86 utilizes a Torsen® limited-slip differential, as well as a sport-tuned independent MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. Newly optional is a TRD Handling package which includes SACHS® dampers to better handle the tight turns, Brembo® brakes for faster braking, and 18-inch split-spoke wheels with Michelin® Pilot® Sport 4 tires. Also optional is a six-speed automatic transmission with Dynamic Rev Management and paddle shifters, Track, Sport, and Snow driving modes, and a strong estimated fuel economy of 32 mpg on the highway and 24 mpg in the city.

Comfort and Convenience

Front bucket seats with black side bolsters to hug your body, an ergonomic, leather-wrapped steering wheel, a folding rear seat, remote keyless entry, and 6.9 cubic feet of trunk cargo space come standard. Optional are Granlux® suede-like seats with leather upholstery or Alcantara® leather-trimmed seats, two-stage heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated, power outside mirrors, and a Smart Key system.

Technology and Safety

Technology is highlighted with an included 7.0-inch multimedia touchscreen display, Bluetooth®, voice command, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, a USB port, and an eight-speaker sound system. Navigation and a 4.2-inch digital driver-information display are optional.

The Toyota 86 encompasses safety with standard features including vehicle stability and traction control, an anti-lock brake system, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, and Smart stop technology. Additionally, a backup camera and an advanced six airbag system are included.
