2024 Toyota Tacoma

If you’re in the market for a tough pickup truck, look no further than the upcoming 2024 Toyota Tacoma. This truck packs a powerful punch inside a rugged exterior, all while delivering a comfortable driving experience. To help you decide if this is the truck for you, we at Longo Toyota in El Monte, California, want to provide you with an overview of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma.

Rugged Exterior Styling

One look at the 2024 Toyota Tacoma, and you’ll know it’s ready for practically anything. The exterior design of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma is rugged while still looking like a modern truck. The first thing you’ll likely notice is the honeycomb-style front grille and the angular lines along the hood. There’s also the raised suspension to give you more ground clearance, along with the all-terrain tires. Finally, the large pickup bed offers you plenty of cargo space for whatever your needs may be.

Powerful and Versatile Performance

Every version of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma uses the same engine, although there are a few options available with it. The base engine, which comes on the entry-level SR trim level, is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 228 horsepower. All the other trims get an improved i-FORCE variation of this engine, which delivers up to 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque when you pair it with an automatic transmission. However, a hybrid version of the i-FORCE setup is also available, called the i-FORCE MAX, which produces up to 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque.

These engine configurations and other features allow the Tacoma to excel when going off-road or performing heavy-duty work. For example, the Trailhunter and TRD Pro trim levels come with underbody protection and exclusive suspension parts to better handle tough terrain. In addition, with the i-FORCE engine and automatic transmission, your Tacoma will be able to tow up to 6,500 pounds. Opting for the hybrid version instead allows you to tow up to 6,000 pounds. In either case, you’ll have a truck that’s ready for work or your next adventure.

Fuel Efficiency

Official estimates of the fuel efficiency for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma aren’t out yet. The 2023 Toyota Tacoma received around 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway at its most efficient. The 2024 models should get around the same fuel efficiency ratings.

However, the 2023 model didn’t have a hybrid powertrain available. As hybrid trucks are typically much more fuel-efficient than their gas counterparts, we expect the hybrid model to perform similarly. Some estimates place the 2024 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid at around 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, although we’ll have to wait for EPA to confirm this.

Interior Comfort

With the 2024 model, Toyota made some significant improvements to the Tacoma’s cabin. It now has an entirely new design that uses more premium materials and a simplified dashboard. Drivers will also have a better view of the road thanks to a raised driving position. To compensate for this, the Tacoma also comes with additional headroom and an adjustable steering wheel so you can make driving more comfortable and still have plenty of room. There are also many optional cabin features available depending on which trim level you select. Some of these features include:

  • IsoDynamic Performance Seats for more comfort on uneven terrain.
  • A large 12.3-inch all-digital gauge cluster.
  • A head-up display.
  • Heated and cooled front seats.

Finally, there are two body options available: the extended cab (XtraCab) and the crew cab (Double Cab). Which body style you select determines how much interior space you get. If you opt for the XtraCab, you can only pair this with the 6-foot cargo bed, while the Double Cab can get either the 6-foot or 5-foot bed.

Modern Entertainment Features

To elevate the interior of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma further, it comes packed with the latest entertainment features. It all starts with the 8-inch infotainment system, which you can upgrade to a larger 14-inch touch screen on higher trims. Either way, you can use this touch screen to access numerous vehicle settings and features. The infotainment system can also connect to your smartphone wirelessly thanks to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integrations. A few of the other optional features include a wireless charging pad, a detachable Bluetooth speaker, and a premium JBL audio system.

The Latest Safety Technology

Finally, each version of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma comes with a suite of driver-assistance and safety features. A few of the many standard safety features include:

  • Adaptive cruise control.
  • Automatic high beams.
  • Forward collision warning.
  • Automated emergency braking.
  • Lane departure warning.
  • Lane-keeping assist.

You also have the option to upgrade these features further by adding blind-spot monitoring and a rear cross-traffic alert. All these safety features will help keep you safe, whether you’re driving down the highway, around a worksite, or on an off-road path.

Available Trims

We expect the 2024 Toyota Tacoma to have eight available trims. Which trim you select will determine the powertrain you get, the included features and technologies, and the final MSRP. While the MSRP amounts have yet to be announced, the 2024 Toyota Tacoma will likely fall between $28,000 and $50,000, depending on the trim you select. The expected trim levels include:

  • SR.
  • SR5.
  • TRD PreRunner.
  • TRD Sport.
  • TRD Off-Road.
  • Limited.
  • Trailhunter.
  • TRD Pro.
