When the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)9 detects a vehicle, it illuminates a warning indicator on the appropriate side view mirror to help let you know when it’s safe to change lanes. When you slowly back out of a driveway or parking spot, the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA)10 provides audible and visual indicators to warn you of approaching vehicles.
